ThunderQuote – Back End Developer

Responsibilities
As a back-end developer, you will be a key member of the tech team and a crucial component of driving ThunderQuote’s continual growth.

You will be engaging with the core product development and working with the development team in executing front-end implementation for features development and platform upgrades as well as on-going improvements to ensure user-centric design and improve the user interface and experience on our ThunderQuote platform.

Here are some ways you will be working together with us at ThunderQuote:

• Work with the development team to push out new platform features
• Development, implementation and testing of new functionalities and projects
• Optimizing existing code base
• Creation of web tools and process automation tools to assist the business team
• Server-side maintenance and optimization

Requirements
So… what does it take to get this role?

• Possess good knowledge in HTML5, PHP, Javascript, jQuery, MariaDB/mySQL
• Prior experience in working on a single page HTML5 application preferred
• Possess some understanding of: MongoDB/nodeJS/ Angular/ Bootstrap / AJAX
• Good understanding of WordPress and/or PHP/mySQL scripting functions
• Good understanding of developing and implementing AJAX call functions to a PHP based server backend
• Good understanding of backend server and database logic, how to perform client side (JavaScript) & server side (PHP) scripting.
• Experience working with Unix / bash platform for server management
• Understanding of Python and RESTful API integration is preferred
