Since October 2011, Thye Hua Kwan Moral Charities (THKMC) was incorporated as a charity with an IPC status to provide multiple social and welfare services to the community at large.

THKMC provides assistance to the various groups in our community through more than 60 programmes and services for the elderly and the sickfamiliespersons with disabilities, and children.  We help anyone in need with full respect to their race, colour, creed, language, culture and religion. We have more than 90 programmes and services, reaching out to more than 55,000 people in the community.

Job Description

The Early Intervention for Children (EIC) Services helps equip children with motor, communication, social, self-help and cognitive skills. THK EIC involves structuring classes around small groups encompassing early childhood special education, social work and therapy support services to stimulate their adaptive functioning and school readiness skills.

We are seeking applications for a Research Assistant to join us as part of our research team to evaluate and enhance the Early Intervention programme at THK EIPIC Centre. The suitable candidate will be responsible for managing administrative tasks related to the research projects. He/ she must be able to work well with our research unit, external consultants and our large team of early intervention professionals

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with research participants, members of the research unit and other EIPIC professionals
  • Carry out data collection, data entry and data analysis
  • Manage administrative tasks related to the research projects e.g. coordinating meetings, scheduling research tasks, requesting for information etc
  • Conduct literature searches in academic journals
  • Assist in preparation of research reports, findings and presentations to stakeholder
  • Conduct fieldwork when required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, early childhood education, cognitive neuroscience or related disciplines from an accredited university
  • Expertise in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Good time management and communication skills
  • Analytical in thinking; organised and meticulous with all tasks

Other Information

  • Experience working with young children
  • Interest in Early Childhood/ Early Intervention
  • Experience working in large multidisciplinary teams in a coordinating role
