Total Wellness Initiative Singapore aims to promote health and wellness through a holistic approach of our ten dimensions of wellness. We strive to empower people to take the first step in taking caring for their well-being through our resources and programs. Currently, we are a team of 6 with over 150 volunteers! We are looking to expand our teams and love to have you join our community of wellness advocates!
Brief Description:
We have received a grant from the National Youth Council to co-design an experiential program with the Institute of Mental Health (IMH) to equip 760 youths of ages 13 to 18 with basic mental health knowledge, methods for coping with stress and skills to support their peers. Called the REST for Wellness program, we plan to engage with 12 Secondary Schools and Junior Colleges to deliver these programs in 2024.
Roles and Responsibilities:
A Wellness Program Intern will support us with the following responsibilities:
1) Receive training for the REST for Wellness program in order to support the main trainer to facilitate small breakout group sessions during the program
2) Coordinate training schedules with teachers from the 12 Secondary Schools and Junior Colleges and prepare relevant program materials to ensure that the program runs smoothly
3) Support co-founders to recruit and manage volunteers who will play a supporting role during the REST for Wellness program and other operational roles for TWIS4) Craft social media posts, write articles or design graphics to share highlights from and raise awareness of the REST for Wellness program and other TWIS activities

1) Gain a deeper understanding into mental health and specific mental illnesses, as well as avenues for seeking help, methods for coping with stress and peer support skills you can use to support friends who are going through a difficult time
2) Learn and practice basic facilitation skills, including: how to ask generative questions, how to manage the energy of a small group and involve quieter people in the group’s discussion
3) Contribute to creating positive change in helping more youths access practical knowledge to improve their mental well-being
