Job Description

Internship Opportunity: Business Development (BD) Support for SaaS Product

Position Overview: We are looking for a motivated final-year university student or recent graduate to join our team as a Business Development (BD) Support Intern. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the SaaS industry and learn the fundamentals of business development. You will work closely with the BD team at TradeInt.com, supporting key initiatives that drive growth and build relationships with high-end clients. This internship will provide exposure to client acquisition, market research, and business growth strategies in the digital software space.

Ideal Candidate Profile: Final-year university student or recent graduate pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field. Eagerness to learn and gain experience in business development, particularly in the SaaS industry. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks. Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Basic knowledge of CRM tools (a plus but not required) and familiarity with Excel or Google Sheets.

Key Responsibilities:

Market Research and Analysis: Assist in researching industry movements & trends, competitors, and potential business opportunities in different parts of the world. Help identify target markets and sectors where our SaaS product can expand. Support the team in creating simple research reports to help inform business strategies and execution plans. 

Prospecting and Lead Generation: Learn how to identify and qualify leads by researching companies and decision-makers. Assist in building a database of potential high-value clients using various online tools and platforms. Collaborate with the BD team to help organize and prioritize leads for outreach.

Client Outreach Support: Help draft and send introductory emails to potential clients under the guidance of the BD team. Learn how to follow up on initial outreach to maintain client engagement. Assist in managing the communication flow and ensuring timely responses to inquiries. 

Business Proposals and Presentations: Support the team in preparing business proposals and presentations for prospective clients. Assist in gathering relevant data to include in pitches, ensuring they are tailored to client needs. Learn how to organize and format presentations that effectively communicate our SaaS product's value proposition. 

Cross-Team Collaboration: Work with the marketing and sales teams to align BD activities with broader company strategies. Assist in coordinating joint efforts such as campaigns, events, or webinars aimed at attracting potential clients. Learn to collaborate with different departments to optimize client outreach and engagement.

Client Relationship Tracking and Reporting: Help the team track key business development metrics, such as client outreach performance and lead generation success. Assist in preparing reports that analyze and summarize key BD activities. Learn how to use this data to recommend areas for improvement in BD strategies. Assist in updating and maintaining the client relationship management (CRM) system with accurate information on leads and clients. Learn to track the progress of leads and opportunities through the sales pipeline. Help generate reports on business development activities, such as lead conversion rates and outreach results.

Skills and Competencies Developed: Understanding of SaaS industry dynamics and business development processes. Experience in prospecting, lead generation, and client outreach. Hands-on experience with AI tools, CRM systems and data management. Enhanced communication and presentation skills, particularly in a B2B context. Basic understanding of how BD supports overall business global growth in the digital software industry.
