We work with all stakeholders in the Energy sector across a wide variety of applications. This includes portfolio strategy, techno-commercial evaluation or due diligence of assets/portfolios to identify & quantify detailed value (e.g. to support acquisitions & divestments, financing, non-operator reviews), risk & performance improvement potential; carbon emission forecasting & management; M&A & portfolio management advisory; reserve & production audits; regulatory design & management.
Our team includes people with a wide range of technical, commercial, operational & management experience in the global Energy sector. We have a diverse, global client base and are looking to expand our team in Singapore, delivering for these global clients.
As an Intern, you’ll gain a unique experience and understanding of the challenges that Energy executives are facing in the face of volatile and changing social, political, environmental, market & investor pressures.
You will have the opportunity to get hands-on and work closely with (and receive 1-on-1 training & coaching from) our senior leadership team on a range of exciting topics, from building new capabilities to client project work. We have a very open culture and welcome creativity and initiative from all levels, including our interns!
What you can expect to do
- Assist in background research for projects & business development
- Assist in data conditioning & conduct analytics on energy assets & portfolios (including on active client projects should the timing allow)
- Support enhancement of our existing in-house analytics tools & visualisations, with a focus on portfolio management & carbon emission management
Who we’re looking for
- A genuine willingness to learn & develop new skills
- Strong communication, written English and mathematical skills
- Strong problem-solving & ability to deal with ambiguity
- Positive, solution-focused, “can do” attitude; self-directed
- Basic understanding of energy / oil & gas / low-carbon industries a bonus, but not a pre-requisite
- Basic understanding of data science & experience of coding in Python, R or VBA also a bonus, but not a pre-requisite
Absolute pre-requisites
- Good understanding of statistics and sound numerical reasoning
- Proficient in data manipulation & calculations in spreadsheet / database tools like MS Excel & MS Access (SQL) or more advanced analysis tools e.g. Matlab or ArcGIS
- Experience in data visualisation (e.g. as a proficient user of tools such as Power BI, Tableau or Spotfire)
- Only Singaporeans, Permanent Residents and students from Singaporean Universities / Polytechnics can be considered for this position
- Evidence of interest and educational excellence
Location & duration
The role is based in Singapore, working from home. Depending on covid-restrictions at the time, we will seek opportunities to meet and work with some of our Singapore team in person. Candidates must be able to commit to a minimum period of 2 months, however we are willing to discuss alternative arrangements (e.g. part-time, longer periods) for shortlisted candidates.
