Internship Description
The arts management intern will support the project manager with a range of administrative tasks, on ongoing client projects. These could include project management, rights management, proofreading, research, brainstorming, liaising with artists and freelancers, maintaining and/or updating the website, copywriting, basic design tasks, assisting with social media campaigns, etc.
We are looking for someone meticulous, reliable, and organised. We welcome individuals who are interested in a career in arts management and/or publishing, prefer a democratic workplace culture, and are excited about the intersection of the literary arts and technology.
Responsibilities
- Support supervisor in project management day-to-day work, including administration, documentation, etc.
- Work with the team to write grant applications, including querying, follow-up, etc.
- Arrange team meetings: coordinate schedules, book rooms, prepare agendas, facilitate pre-read documents, take notes, and monitor follow-up item
- Liaise with artists, writers, researchers, photographers, illustrators, etc.
- Plan events such as networking sessions, Potato group meetings, team outings, etc.
- Obtain rights and permissions, if required
- Produce basic design collateral, such as for branding, events, social media assets, etc.
Requirement
- Structured, detail-oriented, reliable, self-sufficient, and punctual
- Professional communication in person, via email, and on the phone
- Experience in scheduling, planning, and research
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and other web-based apps
- Some experience in an office environment that requires administrative and professional communication skills, ideally working with small teams
- Interest in books, the arts, and tech
Nice to Haves
- Experience with HTML5, Javascript, CSS, etc.
- Familiar with using Figma, Miro, or other design tools
- Some experience in an office environment, ideally working with small teams
