Under general supervision, independently manages execution and timely completion of basic engineering projects by analyzing project scope and determining project specifications, establishing test programs for product investigations, analyzing test programs for adequacy and sequence, examining samples for compliance with UL requirements, and preparing reports for clients. Assists in the development of UL requirements, test methods, and test equipment. Exercises Project Handler Signature Authority as Project Handler of record responsible for opening, maintenance, completion, and closing of assigned new work engineering projects. May exercise Review Signature Authority as assigned as Reviewer of record responsible for initial review, status review, and final technical review of all new work engineering projects.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze project scope and determine project specification
- Establish test programs for product investigations; analyze test programs for adequacy and sequence
- Examine samples for compliance with UL, IEC and other International standards requirements
- Communicates project status and results to clients through frequent contact and by preparing reports.
- Work with the lab staff in the test specification and coordinate administrative aspects of project management
- Resolve engineering issues by analyzing and reporting on the acceptability of the variations
- Technical support for business development
- Conduct technical presentation, required by business or external invitation.
- Train clients and staff with UL’s developed capabilities and best practices
- Performs other duties as directed.
JOB REQUIREMENT
- Bachelor’s degree in EE or related fields.
- Relevant experience in Smart Meter/Electricity Meter
- Ability to communicate effectively and lead presentations
- Project management skills. Experience in project management over multifunctional team roles is preferred.
- Willing to learn and adapt new experimental techniques
- Proven ability to work in a team with good interpersonal skills
- Technically motivated to solve problems and have initiative to explore new ideas
- Ability to plan and organize task so as to meet project time frames
