Job Description

We are tasked to look for a candidate and sub-contract to our client, SJI International.

Situated on a spacious, leafy campus with impressive facilities, SJI International is an independent co-educational Lasallian day school for children aged 4 – 18 years. Now in its fifteenth year, the school has grown steadily to over 2000 children and enjoys a strong reputation for a nurturing and dynamic education. We are committed to developing each child’s full potential within an involved and internationally-minded community.

We are seeking an experienced, conscientious and proactive individual to join us as:

WebMaster - School Portal Management

Job Purpose

The IT Department is looking for an experienced webmaster

  • To oversee the development, implementation and integration of its SJI International School Portal.
  • To manage and lead its primary school web portal, providing staff, students & parents with the integrated web systems that underpin core business activity.
  • To liaise with both elementary and high school department heads, supervise content updates for all pages, integrate new technology systems into the portal and coordinate with IT and the Advancement & Communications Department.

Main Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, manage and monitor the school’s portal.
  • Respond to and troubleshoot all portal issues.
  • Identify and respond to all portal security breaches.
  • Ensure that the portal is protected by enabling the appropriate security measures with the IT department.
  • Update content regularly.
  • Conduct content audits to eliminate redundant and/or duplicate information.
  • Improve the User Experience of the portal regularly.
  • Collaborate with all staff and management to ensure that the portal aligns with brand strategy and meets the school’s standards.
  • Develop and implement training guidelines for users of the portal.
  • Troubleshoot the site including content, links, order flows, registration flows, and transaction logs, and interface with provider support teams for performance issues if necessary.

Requirements

  • Diploma/Degree from a recognised polytechnic/university.
  • Experience in web technologies, web design, content and marketing teams or related fields.
  • 3-5 years of experience managing online portals/web-based businesses.
  • Preferred experience with Drupal Open Source CMS (optional).
  • A natural techie with the interest and ability to learn new technologies, analytically inclined, and comfortable with data and how to use and leverage it through content.
  • High performing self-starter, with proven ability to work both independently as well as a member of teams.
  • Excellent organisation and project management skills with the ability to coordinate projects, determine priorities, set deadlines, complete projects accordingly.
  • Enthusiastic with a can-do attitude, and the ability to prioritise and work independently.
  • Be available for after-hours and on-call emergencies as needed.
