Vegepod is an award winning kit set raised gardening bed which was designed in Australia 10 years ago and is now available in Singapore as of early 2018. Vegepod is self-watering with a wicking system, protective cover and mist sprayer. This system makes growing simple for anyone to grow veggies, fruits and herbs in landed properties, on condo balconies, community and corporate spaces, educational institutions and any other underutilised spaces with an abundance of sun such as rooftops. We are the exclusive distributor for Vegepod here in Singapore.

We actively seek out strategic partnerships with community groups, schools and care facilities to help them meet their urban farming aspirations. We have education and therapy programs which facilitate making urban farming accessible to those who may have never executed programs before. We are highly collaborative, open minded and have a genuine passion for the power that growing your food has in terms of sustainability, community building a well-being.

Job Description

We are seeking an ambitious, passionate and independent individual who identifies with our passion for the role that urban farming has as a force for good. You will be given entrepreneurial licence and responsibility for the success of the growth of sales of Vegepod in Singapore. In the two years since we started up, Vegepod has become a recognised brand in the flourishing urban farming scene in Singapore and it will be over to you continue this momentum. We have a sales strategy in place ready to be executed, but in driving this plan you will have influence over how the strategy can be refined and to bring totally new ideas to the table.

Specific tasks include:

  • Regular visits to our reseller network around the island, to ensure stock is updated, demo units are well presented and staff are up to date with the information they need to advise their customers. 
  • Attending markets and events to promote Vegepod as a way for people and groups to have success in growing their food.
  • Visiting key customers and influencers using the product and develop marketing materials for the website and social media. 
  • Executing a sales strategy, following up in setting appointments to give demos and site visits for possible new installations.
  • Executing workshops and basic training in the set up and use of Vegepod.
  • Working on proposals for strategic partnerships to apply Vegepod to new contexts and settings.

Must haves:

  • A drivers licence
  • Ability to work on weekends and be flexible in terms of work schedule
  • An energetic and persuasive ability in explaining Vegepod to new customers
  • Experience in developing content for social media
  • Motivated to achieve success through sales targets
  • Independently minded, able to execute a sales plan and problem solve
  • Confidence in cold calling and persistence in following up on leads
  • Happy to get your hands dirty.... literally

Nice to haves:

  • A genuine passion for sustainable living, community engagement and urban farming
  • Comfortable with physical tasks including moving stock, loading and unloading demos from van and setting up/demobilising for events and exhibitions.
  • Skills in Microsoft Office and other tools that can be used to develop marketing material
