We are looking for a Tech Intern to join our Technical Operations team and gain hands-on experience in immersive exhibitions. Our current projects include Harry Potter: Visions of Magic, with more large-scale experiences in the pipeline.
As a Tech Intern, you will assist in setting up, maintaining, and troubleshooting AVL (Audio, Video, Lighting), animatronics, and interactive show elements. You will work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment alongside experienced technicians, ensuring that all technical aspects of the exhibition run smoothly.
This internship is ideal for students in Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplines who want real-world industry exposure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the setup, maintenance, and daily operations of technical systems for immersive exhibitions.
- Support troubleshooting and repairs for lighting, sound, animatronics, and interactive exhibits.
- Conduct routine safety and functionality checks to ensure smooth operations.
- Work with the team to diagnose and resolve technical malfunctions in show elements.
- Assist in scene transitions and special effects operations during live events and exhibition activations.
- Follow technical documentation and help with fabrication, installation, or system updates as needed.
- Maintain a safe and organised work environment.
- Other tasks assigned by the technical team to support the smooth operation of exhibitions.
What We’re Looking For:
- Currently pursuing a diploma or degree in Mechatronics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.
- Basic knowledge or experience with hand tools, power tools, and electrical wiring.
- Interest in automation, animatronics, AV technology, or interactive entertainment.
- Ability to follow technical manuals and troubleshoot basic system issues.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
- Team player with a proactive learning attitude.
- Able to commit to a 5-day work week, including weekends if required, based on operational needs.
Bonus Skills (Not Required but a Plus!):
- Basic experience with PLC, Arduino, or control systems.
- Familiarity with pneumatics, hydraulics, or motion systems.
- Exposure to live entertainment, exhibitions, or stage production environments.
