Job Description

This internship offers a hands-on learning experience in various aspects of mechanical engineering, where you will collaborate closely with experienced engineers to contribute to various aspects of mechanical design, testing, project management, and documentation. Gain valuable skills, refine your expertise, and foster a mindset of continuous learning and growth, preparing you for success in the field of mechanical engineering.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

Design Support:

  • Collaborate with engineers to assist in the design and development of mechanical components and systems.
  • Utilize CAD software to create detailed drawings and models, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications.
  • Contribute innovative ideas and solutions to enhance product functionality and performance, ensuring adherence to design specifications and standards.


Testing and Analysis:

  • Assist in conducting tests and experiments to evaluate the performance and reliability of mechanical systems.
  • Analyze test data and results, identifying areas for improvement and optimization.
  • Support the development of testing procedures and protocols to ensure consistency and validity of results.

 

Project Management Assistance:

  • Participate in project planning and coordination activities, ensuring tasks are completed within schedule and budget constraints.
  • Assist in monitoring project progress, identifying potential risks and issues, and proposing mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives and deliverables.

 

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of design iterations, test results, and project milestones.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Communicate findings, recommendations, and progress updates effectively to project teams and management.


Continuous Learning and Development:

  • Actively engage in learning opportunities to expand knowledge and skills in mechanical engineering principles and practices.
  • Seek guidance and mentorship from experienced engineers to enhance your understanding of industry best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Demonstrate a proactive attitude towards personal and professional development, striving for excellence in all endeavours.

 

Requirements

  • Currently a final year student pursuing a diploma or degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6-month availability (Aug 2024 to Feb 2025, or depending on schedule).
  • Strong academic background with a keen interest in mechanical design, analysis, and project management.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (e.g. SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn, adapt, and contribute to meaningful projects.
