Job Description
  1. Develop and execute creative and innovative pastry and dessert menus in collaboration with the executive chef.
  2. Prepare a variety of desserts, pastries, cakes, bread, and other baked goods according to established recipes and standards.
  3. Ensure all pastry and dessert items are prepared and presented with attention to detail and aesthetic appeal.
  4. Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed to ensure freshness and availability of ingredients.
  5. Train and supervise pastry cooks and assistants in proper baking and pastry techniques, as well as food safety and sanitation procedures.
  6. Monitor kitchen operations to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  7. Collaborate with other members of the culinary team to coordinate menu offerings and ensure a seamless dining experience for guests.
  8. Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques, ingredients, and flavors into pastry and dessert offerings.
  9. Assist in menu planning, costing, and pricing of pastry and dessert items to maximize profitability while meeting customer expectations.
  10. Provide exceptional customer service by interacting with guests, taking special requests, and accommodating dietary restrictions or preferences.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant, bakery, or hotel.
  • Extensive knowledge of baking techniques, pastry arts, and dessert preparation.
  • Creative flair and passion for experimenting with flavors, textures, and presentation.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills to effectively train and supervise kitchen staff.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Other Information

As a Pastry Chef, you will be responsible for designing, preparing, and presenting a wide range of desserts, baked goods, and confections for our restaurants.
