Job description
Xpointo is growing our team and we currently have a position for a Magento Developer. This is a full-time position with an initial contract term of 3 to 6 months with possibility of conversion to a permanent role. The Magento Developer will work closely with our tech team as well as other team members from product development, creative and project management functions to implement an e-commerce website.
You must be proficient in the Magento e-commerce platform and responsive design web development. You should have a robust portfolio of digital work produced in the e-commerce space using Magento.
The Ideal Candidate
- You are a talented developer with a passion for cutting edge technology and web services.
- You have experience in architecting and coding for eCommerce projects, especially in Magento
- You have an in-depth understanding of the software development lifecycle
- You are able to work independently or as part of a team to deliver projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as solutions architect for a Magento eCommerce website
- Architect and develop a Magento eCommerce website
- Hands-on code-writing
- Support and maintenance as required
- Any other duties that may be assigned that are compatible with skills and experience
Skills and Experience
Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in web application development
- Magento Certified Developer and/or experience working with Magento 2 and Enterprise version preferred
- Fluent with development of responsive websites and applications using the framework and technologies of PHP MVC frameworks, HTML5, Javascript and CSS where required
- Familiar with Scrum project management methodology, experience with project planning and solution testing and iteration
- Thinks and codes object-oriented programming
- SEO awareness a plus
- Good team player and possess good communication skills
- Highly motivated self-starter
- Positive attitude and an ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
- A strong web development portfolio is a must
- Degree or Diploma in related fields
