The Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) movement was started in 1844 in London by Mr George Williams and a group of likeminded concerned Christians. It is one of the oldest and largest Movements for youth in the world and now operates in 119 countries, and reaching 58 million people. The YMCA works to bring social justice and peace to young people and their communities, regardless of religion, race, gender or culture. Established in 1902, the YMCA of Singapore is a volunteer-based Christian organisation that seeks to serve and impact all members of the community, regardless of race, language or religion, through programmes, services and enterprises to develop the body, mind and spirit.
The Role:
You will be part of a team to support with admin, co-ordinate and facilitate the programmes for youth with special needs, to help improve their quality of life.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the members sign ups and registrations of activities / programmes / workshops
- Co-ordinate club activities
- Befriend the members
- Able to conduct weekday programmes for club members (if there's an interest to teach or share knowledge)
- Facilitate club programmes
- Recruit members for new programmes/workshops.
- Reply to Club's enquiries
- Communicate with club members and caregivers via WhatsApp
Job Requirements:
- Passionate in serving the community and helping youth with special needs
- Able to commit 4 days work week, Wednesdays to Saturdays.
- Open to have some experience in working with youth with special needs. (Candidates with no experience but willing to learn is also welcomed to apply)
