JOB SUMMARY
YMCA Youth For Causes (YFC) programme (www.youthforcauses.com) empowers youths aged 15 to 25 to champion social causes they are passionate about. Each year, up to 100 teams of four youths each receive seed funding, training, and mentorship to raise public awareness, funds, and mobilize volunteers for a social service organization of their choice over a 15-week implementation period.
We are seeking a passionate and organized Programme Executive to support and enhance our YFC programme. This role involves organizing key events to provide youth participants with platforms to present their initiatives and celebrate their achievements. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring these events run smoothly, providing the necessary support and resources for youth to succeed in their community-driven projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Programme Management:
- Organize key events such as the programme launch, project showcases, and awards ceremonies, ensuring they are well-coordinated and impactful.
- Manage all logistical aspects of these events, including venue selection, event timelines, resource allocation, and participant engagement.
- Provide ongoing support to youth teams during the 15-week programme to ensure smooth project implementation.
Youth Engagement and Support:
- Coordinate with mentors and trainers to ensure youth teams have the resources and guidance they need.
- Manage and engage the alumni exco, coordinating their involvement in supporting events.
Stakeholder Management:
- Establish and maintain partnerships with social service organizations, educational institutions, and other key stakeholders.
- Act as the primary liaison between participants, mentors, organizations, and the YFC programme team.
Communication and Promotion:
- Develop and implement a communication strategy to promote the YFC programme and its initiatives through various channels.
- Manage the YFC website, portal, and social media platforms, ensuring timely and engaging content that highlights programme milestones and success stories.
Administrative and Financial Oversight:
- Maintain an efficient filing system for all programme-related documents and data.
- Track and manage the programme’s budget, ensuring all expenditures are within allocated limits.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Degree or Diploma in a related field.
- Proven experience in event management, including planning, organizing, and executing large-scale events.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage diverse groups, including youth, mentors, and partners.
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); knowledge of graphic design tools (e.g., Canva) is a plus.
- Detail-oriented and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
- Problem-solving mindset, with the ability to proactively address challenges.
- Highly collaborative, with a team-oriented approach to building strong relationships.
