Performance Excellence Intern
Supporting the performance excellence team, you will be exposed to 1 or more of the following projects (subject but not limited to):
Work Conservation Project
1. Water balance chart
- Drawing detail plant water balance chart - Need to understand and learn about the water usage in the power station and tackle the gap
2. Water Conservation – saving of process and potable water usage
- Need to understand plant processes and carry out risk/benefit assessment
3. Compilation of Water use data for PUB Water Efficiency Management Plan submission
Energy Conservation Project
1. House load reduction studies
- Study house load for plants and establish areas of improvement – process risk assessment needed and understand energy/heat balance concept
2. Pump performance monitoring – Study of the pump performance by comparing pump design. Identifying pumps is operating in bad performance and suggest ways to improve efficiency
- Need to understand plant processes and carry out risk/benefit assessment
3. Compilation of Energy use data for NEA Energy Conservation data submission
4. Energy balance of Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Plant
- Identify gap of energy wastage in the process
- Need to understand power plant process and plant thermodynamic modelling
Greenhouse gas monitoring and emission reporting project
1. Quantification of GHG emission level using IPCC methodology
- Understand basic GHG components and IPCC methodology
2. Compute GHG emission level based on plant fuel use data for combustion processes
3. Compute GHG emission level for non-combustible plant activities – study and recommend ways to reduce GHG emission level for these type of activities
