Yuan Sang is a wholesale food supplier specializing in dried seafood with an annual turnover in excess of $38 million. Unlike the many retailers you see out there, Yuan Sang is a business-to-business (B2B) distributor and we mainly supply Asian culinary ingredients to food businesses, restaurants, food manufacturers and distributors. Some of our clientele includes Din Tai Feng, Soup Kitchen and Mustafa.
Similar to how a turkey or log cake is synonymous with Christmas, traditional dried seafood is synonymous with Chinese cuisine and Chinese New Year. Abalones, scallops, fish maws, sea cucumbers, mushrooms, red dates are some of the many ingredients we supply. What most people don’t realize is that when you sit down with your family for a sumptuous reunion dinner, when you attend someone’s wedding banquet or when you are enjoying a hot bowl of laksa – chances are Yuan Sang had an integral part in bringing the flavors together to make your favorite dish a reality.
Our head office is located at Pasir Panjang Wholesale Centre. It is conveniently located 10 minutes by foot from Haw Par Villa MRT.

Job Description
Interning at Yuan Sang will allow you to be exposed to a range of duties and responsibilities. Such responsibilities may range from managing import/export, warehouse management, sales and marketing etc. By assisting the Business Development Executive, you will help to shape and form various systems that will increase workflow efficiency and productivity. Witnessing firsthand how such systems are managed from a top down and bottom up perspective is a special privilege only a SME such as Yuan Sang can afford you.
Depending on circumstances, interns may also be allowed to implement their own project initiatives to bring betterment to the company. Interns with us will also be exposed to warehouse operations here with us, where they will be given the chance to get down to and witness how assisting the management of the Cold Rooms and Warehouses that we have in possession is like.
Being a SME, interning at Yuan Sang will allow you to not only gain valuable experience about the wholesale trade in Singapore but also learn the importance of how all the various departments within this SME fit together to make us a leading wholesaler in our industry. As you can imagine, the challenges of working in a SME are very different to working in a corporate environment and if you are not occasionally willing to get hands on, Yuan Sang may not be the right place for you.
This internship is best suited for students studying business management however all applicants are welcome.
